Julie Fohrman, MA, MAG, GCM Gerontologist Principal & Founder
Julie Fohrman, MA, MAG, GCM is a Gerontologist and the Founder of North Shore Geriatric Care Management which is located in Lake Forest, Illinois. Julie received her Masters Degrees in Gerontology & Psychology and has an advanced degree in Geriatrics. Julie has worked and specialized in the aging field for over twenty eight years. Julie's expertise is in handling complex geriatric care issues, Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, navigating home care and senior housing placements. Julie formerly worked for Brookdale Senior Living for over ten years where she held the position of Corporate Director of Assisted Living & Resident Services nationwide. Brookdale Senior Living (BKD) is the nations premier and largest owner, developer and manager of Independent living, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing communities (a publicly held company). Prior to working for Brookdale, Julie was the Director of Social Services at the Chicago Department on Aging under Mayor Richard Daley.
Julie Fohrman, MA, MAG, GCM has an in-depth and extensive background and understanding of the aging field and is frequently called upon as an expert consultant to senior housing companies, health care organizations and the aging industry. Julie is currently serving as the Illinois and Chicagoland Unit Manager of the Aging Life Care Association (ALCA) formerly the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (NAPGCM) since 2010. Julie also is involved with many other senior organizations, and industry groups throughout Illinois and nationwide. Julie is on the board of the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) and the Committee to run the Walk to End Alzheimer's North Shore since 2014. She is also an active board member of many organizations and health care groups, such as, the Auxiliary Board of NorthShore University HealthSystems at Highland Park Hospital (a Teaching Affiliate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine).
